Can HIV be ruled out at 4 weeks?

The 4-week period for AIDS is not enough to completely rule out AIDS. The corresponding window period for AIDS is generally 4-8 weeks, but this is mainly for the HIV antibody combined with the p24 antigen test. If only the HIV antibody test is used, the corresponding window period can be up to 12 weeks. If HIV RNA quantitative testing is used, the window period can be within 1-4 weeks according to some data, in which case it may be possible to achieve exclusion. Generally speaking, the test is not used much in clinical practice, but is usually performed by a combination of antigen and antibody, in which case it can be ruled out only after eight weeks or six months. If the antibody-antigen test is negative at four weeks, the test can be repeated at eight weeks or even after June, so that it can be ruled out.
