What to do about fundus retinopathy

There are many kinds of fundus retinopathy, the common ones are diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, etc. At present, we can consider the use of drugs, surgery and other methods of treatment.
1. Diabetic retinopathy: there is no specific drug treatment, patients should pay attention to blood sugar control. Patients with vitreous blood accumulation that cannot be absorbed and a large number of proliferative membranes in the retina should undergo timely surgical treatment.
2. Retinal vein obstruction: when macular edema occurs, anti-vascular endothelial growth factor drugs can be given to the vitreous cavity injection for treatment.
3. Retinal detachment: Surgical treatment is currently the main consideration. Extrascleral compression with loop ligation can be performed to loosen the pull of the proliferating membrane on the retina, or vitrectomy can be performed.
4. Age-related macular degeneration: For wet age-related macular degeneration, vitreous cavity injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor drugs can be given for treatment. If the neovascularization is not in the center of the macula, laser photocoagulation can also be used for subretinal neovascularization.
It is recommended to go to the hospital in time for a checkup to clarify the condition and then follow the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
