What will you look like decades after your nose job?

Recently, some of you have asked what your nose will look like years from now after having rhinoplasty, and although you have become beautiful in the moment, you are concerned about changes that will occur in the future. Today, let’s talk about the question of whether the prosthesis will change after many years. First of all, the commonly used rhinoplasty prosthesis is divided into 3 kinds: silicone, expanded body and now the newer super body, super body, this new material due to the operation of the distant case is relatively small, so the long term case (decades) did not appear, here only a short introduction. In fact, it is true that there are examples of changes in the shape of the nose after a few years of rhinoplasty, mainly in the nose is getting shorter and shorter, the appearance of the nose, etc., but nowadays this situation is rare. Silicone gel prosthesis is generally categorized into extra soft, soft, medium and hard types, generally in the range of SH A 0~90, the lower the value, the softer the material. It is different from bentonite in that silicone does not change in height or morphology even after a long period of time after implantation in the body, which is an advantage of silicone prosthesis and allows accurate prediction of postoperative nasal height. But it also has a bad side, after implantation of silicone, the foreign body reaction of macrophages will lead to fibrous tissue proliferation around the silicone prosthesis, and the formation of envelope (picture too disgusting), this envelope has unique properties: (1) the formation of even envelope so that the silicone gel and the surrounding tissues are isolated, do not adhere, so that the silicone gel compared to the expanded body has a greater mobility. (2) It is not easy to adhere to the surrounding tissues, and it is easy to have long-term infection. (3) After periosteal contracture, the nasal cartilage and the skin of the tip of the nose will be pulled halfway to the side of the head, resulting in shortening of the length of the nose, excessive exposure of the nostrils, and the formation of a short nose deformity (pilosebaceous nose). (4) The skin on both sides of the prosthesis is pulled after the contracture of the peritoneum, which makes the prosthesis contour visible and leads to unnatural and easily detectable appearance. (5) The hypertrophied peritoneum gives the tip of the nose an obtuse round shape. Calcified prosthesis will be hard, although it has no effect on the human body, but it will affect the sense of touch. Candidates who mind this can choose to replace it regularly, and those who don’t mind can keep it as it is. I haven’t had one yet, but I really haven’t found any shortcomings or changes in the 4 years of cases. Expanded body For the expanded body, it was first used in the heart tower bridge surgery material, and has a lot of microporous, and human tissue compatibility is still very good, unless the operation is not properly caused by infection, can be used for life. Depending on the texture, there are three types of expanders: soft, medium and hard. The most critical factor in determining the texture is the size of the pores. The smaller and denser the pores, the harder the texture of the expanded body. In addition, the direction of expansion and the direction of the nodules during the manufacturing process also affects the hardness of the expanders. Expanders that expand to both sides are softer than those that expand to one side. Flake type implants have smaller pores (15-25 lumens) than block type implants, but they are softer because they expand to both sides. Disadvantages of expanded prosthesis: (1) The height of the back of the nose decreases after implantation, which affects the accuracy of postoperative prediction. (2) It is difficult to remove the expanded prosthesis because the tissue grows inside the prosthesis and forms a tight adhesion. (3) Not formed envelope, tight adhesion with the surrounding tissue, sometimes easy to show the outline of the prosthesis, the appearance is not natural. Ultra body Now let’s talk about the newer nasal prosthesis material ultra body, it is both silicone and expanded material of a new silicone material, belongs to the nobility of silicone, its purity has reached more than 99%, and it’s special “3D Monk hole” patented technology, solves the traditional silicone in the nose surgery of many disadvantages, we all know that the more adhesive, the easier the prosthesis is to remove the adhesion. As we all know, the more adhesive, the easier the prosthesis calcification, hardening, deformation and other problems, and adhesive calcification makes the prosthesis surface sediment, resulting in skin unevenness, adhesive will be absorbed by the human body tissue and metabolism, resulting in the dorsum of the nose part of the local depression, or even the overall deformation of the purity of the circumvents these problems, and its unique design also has the advantages of the bentonite material can be formed with the adhesion of their own tissues, but unlike it, if you don’t have any adhesion, it is not necessary to use it for any purpose. However, unlike silicone, it can be removed if you are not satisfied. In addition, unlike silicone and expanders, Ultrasound is a high-end noble prosthesis that can be robotically measured to design the most suitable curve and precision for each individual. As the application of super body in rhinoplasty is only 4 years short, so the length of time has not reached the observation period of ten years and decades, so what, its shortcomings for the time being, but it is true that no shortcomings and changes have been found in terms of the cases of these 4 years.
