Normally, the patient should not have bright red blood on the fourth day after the cervical biopsy procedure. Because of the small amount of material taken for the cervical biopsy and the small invasion, the patient can have a small amount of bright red blood on the day of the surgery and the first three days after the surgery. After three days the amount of bleeding will gradually decrease and the color of the bleeding will gradually change from bright red to brown. If the patient does not have bright red blood for the first four days after the biopsy and then has bright red blood four days later, two possibilities should be considered: First, there is an infection on the wound surface, resulting in poor healing of the wound surface, and bright red blood can occur. Second, consider that the patient may have uterine bleeding, such as bleeding caused by the patient having ovulatory bleeding or abnormal menstruation. Therefore, the patient needs to do internal gynecological examination and determine the treatment plan according to the internal gynecological examination.
