Biological agents can treat uveitis.
1. The more difficult to treat uveitis: such as leukemia-related uveitis, Koyanagi Harada disease, choroidal retinopathy involving the macula, should be used as early as possible biological agents for treatment.
2. Traditional hormone therapy and immunosuppressant contraindication or intolerance of uveitis: the application of hormones can quickly control inflammation, play a better therapeutic effect, but for the accompanying diabetes, peptic ulcer, Cushing’s syndrome, glaucoma and other conditions, can consider the use of biologics therapy
3. Uveitis in which the effect of hormone therapy is not good or the hormone can not be reduced: when the symptoms do not improve obviously after using hormone for 2~4 weeks, biologics can be used after excluding infections, etc.; or after the hormone improves the condition effectively, there is a relapse when the dosage is reduced or the hormone can not be reduced in 3 months, biologics can be added to the treatment.
Uveitis is a chronic, common, easy to recur, and even affect the vision of the disease, after the symptoms should be timely medical examination, follow the doctor’s instructions to use drugs for treatment, do not self-medication.
