Do fetal heart malformations heal on their own?

Whether or not a fetal heart anomaly can heal on its own depends on what the anomaly is. If the foramen ovale is not closed and the mitral valve is mildly regurgitated, then there is a certain chance that the anomaly can be cured with postnatal growth and development; however, if the anomaly is large in scope or there is tetralogy of Fallot, then it generally cannot be cured.
If heart abnormalities are detected during a pregnancy test, a prenatal diagnosis is necessary to determine whether the abnormalities need to be treated in time, based on the extent of the abnormality and other tests.
If the abnormality is found after birth through pediatric insurance, it is recommended to consult a specialist in a timely manner and treat the symptoms under the doctor’s advice and individual needs.
