The sound of human joints moving is not new to people, and I’m afraid it has happened to every adult at one time or another. So, where do joint rattles come from? Physiological rattling A single rattling sound that occurs accidentally, often when the human body suddenly does faster or less natural movements, such as secondary school students playing when suddenly pulled by others behind the upper arm, resulting in my head down, bending when the sound. The reason for this is that the force is strong, the speed is fast, and the range of motion of the shoulder joint is large, so that the joint surface does not have time to fully fit, and one side of the joint surface rubs against the rougher bone on the other side of the joint surface and makes a sound. The sound is similar to a gentle drumming because of the slight collision between the bones, so the sound is small and dull. When the hip joint (root of the thigh) changes from flexion to extension, the tendon or fascia around the joint slips over the protruding part of the femur next to the joint and makes a sound. Since tendons and fascia are fibrous connective tissues, similar in nature to strings, they slide over the femoral ridge (the protrusion of the femur) and are equivalent to plucking the strings, so the sound is loud and crisp. The other kind of sound is the sound from the finger. That is, some people are happy to form the habit of finger popping. Due to the special structure of the finger, the flexion and extension of the finger joint is pulled by the flexor tendon that glides in the tendon sheath, and when the finger is excessively bent or quickly straightened by flexion, the tendon will emit a vibration sound. However, it is important to point out that frequent finger twitching is a bad habit and should not be followed. Pathological ringing Unlike physiological ringing, pathological ringing is mainly caused by loose joint capsule. For example, when the hip joint is bent, the femoral head often slips over the upper edge of the acetabulum and produces a popping sound. Therefore, hip popping can occur in cases of congenital deformity, acquired trauma, inflammation and other causes of hip capsule laxity. There are many causes of knee popping, such as fragmented bone fragments in the joint, meniscal injury, congenital osteoarticular deformity, etc. Popping can occur. Another characteristic of knee popping is that it may occur when walking “soft” or being “stuck”, sometimes accompanied by pain. Finger popping is mostly seen in manual workers, typists, urban white-collar workers who work with computers, housewives, manifested as a bent finger can not be straightened, the other hand to straighten the finger popping, also known as trigger finger, or flexor tendonitis. One of the causes of shoulder popping is dislocation or subluxation of the shoulder joint due to relaxation of the shoulder capsule; the other is soft tissue degeneration at the joint, which causes popping when the joint slips over the bone protrusion during activity. It can be seen that the shoulder rattling is mainly pathological, unless it happens by chance, such as joking or playing. The last three points to point out are 1. It is very simple to identify physiological or pathological rattling: the occasional single joint rattling, especially in special cases such as stumbling and joking, is mostly physiological, so there is no need to worry about it. Often recurring ringing, especially pain, joint interlocking (stuck ) and other complications of joint ringing is mostly pathological, you should go to the hospital for treatment. 2. Exercise should be scientific and avoid blindness. In addition to shoulder joint overexercise will cause discomfort, knee joint bending for excessive exercise around the ring can also lead to knee capsule relaxation, “trigger finger” patients repeatedly flexion and extension of the finger, will lead to aggravation of the disease, delayed difficult to heal. 3, there are individuals who occasionally occur after the physiological popping, very nervous, again and again, changing position, trying to repeat the sound again, trying to find the cause, it is not necessary. Because if it is pathological ringing, not to find it will happen again; and if the physiological ringing, excessive worry, tension will increase their psychological pressure.
