Meniere’s disease, i.e. Meniere’s disease, requires both etiologic and symptomatic treatment when vomiting occurs.
1. Treatment of the cause: the cause of the disease is still uncertain, but it can be caused by inner ear edema. Therefore, the causative treatment here does not only focus on the specific cause of the disease, but also on the pathogenesis. The main oral hydrochlorothiazide and other dehydrating agents, dexamethasone and other glucocorticoids to combat the immune response, and moderate supplementation of multivitamins.
In some patients, ototoxic drugs such as gentamicin and streptomycin are feasible for tympanic injection to reduce the secretion of endolymphatic fluid and control the occurrence of inner ear edema. If the effect of conservative treatment is not good, endolymphatic sac decompression, semicircular canal tamponade, labyrinthine resection and vestibular nerve amputation and other surgical treatments are feasible, so as to reduce the occurrence of vertigo attacks and vomiting.
2. Symptomatic treatment: This disease requires lying down in a dark room, avoiding stimulation by external factors, strictly low-salt and low-fat diet, and avoiding the intake of tobacco, alcohol and strong tea. Symptomatic oral diazepam and other sedative drugs, flunarizine and other anti-vertigo drugs, betahistine and other tube expanders, metoclopramide and other antiemetic drugs. Reasonable rehydration and electrolyte replacement to avoid dehydration and electrolyte disorders.
When vomiting symptoms occur in Meniere’s disease, it is necessary to actively seek medical treatment, systematic examination, and standardized diagnosis and treatment in accordance with the doctor’s instructions.
