Treatment of aortic coarctation

Today, two patients were successfully discharged from the hospital, and it is worth mentioning that they were both patients with aortic coarctation (type I). This type of aortic coarctation, where the rupture is located in the ascending aorta and the pressure is high, is an extremely dangerous condition as once the vessel wall ruptures, the patient will die within one minute due to blood loss. The surgical treatment is also the most difficult and risky among all known cardiothoracic diseases. We complete the preoperative examination for the patient as soon as possible and operate on this type of patient as soon as possible to reduce the risk of rupture of the patient’s blood vessels. After performing the ascending aorta replacement, full arch replacement and elephant trunk stenting for several hours, we carefully monitored the changes in the patient’s vital signs and adjusted the medication in time to give the patient the best support until the patient recovered and was discharged from the hospital. According to the statistics and comparison of patients’ treatment results so far, we can say that our treatment level for aortic coarctation (type I) has reached the treatment level of some Beijing specialty hospitals, thus providing more treatment options for patients.
