How to treat popliteal injuries

Hamstring injuries tend to occur during extreme knee flexion or during sports such as long-distance running or strenuous sprinting. Depending on the severity of the injury, medication and surgery can be chosen to treat it. 1. Conservative treatment: mild injury or partial tear of hamstring muscle can be treated conservatively. You need to rest in bed with local brakes, elevate the affected limbs, and choose non-steroidal drugs such as ibuprofen and nimesulide for anti-inflammatory and analgesic, as well as muscle relaxing drugs such as chlorzoxazone tablets and baclofen tablets. 2. Surgical treatment: If the popliteus muscle is completely ruptured, surgical treatment should be used, such as tendon suture and tendon transplantation. The popliteus muscle is located at the back of the thigh and is one of the main knee flexor muscle groups, whose main function is to straighten the hip and flex the knee. Typical symptoms are sudden sharp pain in the back of the thigh, localized swelling and soft tissue bleeding during sudden acceleration of sprinting or high-speed running. Patients with popliteal injuries are advised to go to the hospital in time for standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
