Wuling Lipid and Pohuang Indications

Wu Ling Zhi and Pu Huang both belong to the Chinese herbal medicine, in which Wu Ling Zhi is used for treating stabbing pain in the chest, epigastrium (abdomen), dysmenorrhea and menstrual closure, post-partum blood stasis and pain, and swelling and pain; and Pu Huang is used for treating bleeding due to various reasons, dysmenorrhea and menstrual closure, swelling and pain, and pain and astringency of hemorrhagic drenching (the appearance of urine and blood with a painful sensation) and other pains. Wuling Lipid is bitter, sweet, warm in nature and belongs to the liver meridian, with the efficacy of activating blood circulation to relieve pain (relieving pain by removing blood stasis), resolving blood stasis to stop bleeding, treating stabbing pains in the chest and hypochondrium, menstrual cramps and dysmenorrhea in women, post-partum bruises and pain, bruising and swelling, and other conditions. It should not be used with ginseng when there is blood deficiency and no blood stasis, and should not be used with ginseng. Pu huang is sweet in taste, neutral in nature, and belongs to the liver and pericardium meridians, with the effects of stopping bleeding, resolving blood stasis and clearing lymph, it can be used in treating vomiting blood, epistaxis, hemoptysis, leakage of menstruation (excessive menstruation or dripping), bleeding from wounds, menstrual closure and dysmenorrhea, stabbing pains in the chest and abdomen, stumbling and swelling pains, and astringent pains from blood drenching.
