In clinical practice, the biceps muscle is located on the anterior side of the upper arm. After a biceps strain, that is, a soft tissue injury to the biceps, the patient first feels a tingling or swelling sensation in the biceps area, and there is a large local swelling, bruising on the skin surface, positive local pressure pain, negative percussion pain, and in severe cases, the flexion and extension of the shoulder or elbow joints are affected. After these symptoms appear, first of all, the patient should not massage the area to avoid aggravating muscle damage or subcutaneous bleeding. Bed rest and local braking should be given. Cold compresses should be applied within 24 hours of injury to promote vasoconstriction and reduce bleeding, and hot compresses should be applied after 24 hours to promote absorption of subcutaneous blood and reduce swelling. After about 1-2 weeks of treatment, the symptoms will be gradually relieved.
