What to do if the fetal heart rate is too low in mid-pregnancy

A low fetal heart rate in mid-pregnancy requires prompt treatment with oxygen and active removal of triggers, among other things.
In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, the fetal heart rate should be between 110 and 160 beats per minute. If the fetal heart rate is below 110 beats per minute, the fetal heart rate is too low. A low fetal heart rate can be caused by fetal hypoxia or by the use of medications during pregnancy.
1. Hypoxia during pregnancy. In the middle of pregnancy, if the fetus lacks oxygen, the fetal heart rate may slow down. At this time, the pregnant woman should inhale oxygen treatment, which is conducive to improving fetal hypoxia, fetal heart rate may gradually return to normal.
2. Use of drugs during pregnancy. If a woman uses some adrenal beta-blockers during pregnancy, the drugs may be absorbed by the fetus through the placenta, resulting in a slower fetal heart rate. If this is the case, the pregnant woman has to stop applying the said drug along with oxygen.
It is recommended to take obstetric checkups on time during pregnancy and seek early medical attention if there is any discomfort.
