Symptoms of Stage IV Cancer

Stage IV cancer, which is an advanced stage, may generally have a large primary tumor lesion or distant metastasis, and the symptoms may differ depending on the site of metastasis. For example, if the primary tumor is large, depending on the location of the tumor, lung cancer may show more coughing, coughing up sputum and hemoptysis. Stomach cancer or liver cancer may show symptoms of inability to eat, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, and ascites. If there are metastases from other sites, such as brain metastases, there may be nausea, vomiting and other symptoms of increased intracranial pressure. There are also many bone metastases in stage IV of cancer that will show symptoms of bone pain, and some serious ones will have pathological fractures. For stage IV cancer, there is no way to treat it surgically, but palliative radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, etc. can be done to control the development of the disease and relieve the symptoms.
