The umbilical cord of infants should be treated by local disinfection and hemostatic treatment after detachment.
1. Local disinfection: after the baby’s navel falls off, you can use iodophor to wipe the area, play the role of disinfection. At the same time, you can use the navel patch when bathing the baby, which can prevent water from entering the navel to cause infection. If there is pus or bloody oozing from the umbilical nest, in addition to iodine vapor disinfection, you also need to go to the hospital in time for consultation and treatment.
2. Hemostatic treatment: some babies will bleed after the umbilical cord is detached, generally the amount of bleeding is small, you can use iodophor to disinfect the treatment, but if the amount of bleeding is relatively large, it is necessary to go to the hospital in time to stop the bleeding, which is conducive to the rapid recovery of the navel.
After the umbilical cord is detached from the baby, such as because of the local moisture, resulting in breeding bacteria, causing dermatitis and other diseases, it is recommended to let the doctor for diagnosis and treatment in a timely manner, and follow the doctor’s advice.
