Health education after internal lumbar spine fixation

48-72 hours after surgery, the quadriceps and calf triceps muscles of both lower limbs can be exercised in bed, by taking the knee joint in the straight position, tensing the quadriceps muscles and then relaxing them, repeatedly and alternately, twice a day for 5-10 minutes. Later, increase the amount of activity as appropriate according to the patient’s adaptation. After the ankle joint is in neutral position, dorsiflexion and plantar flexion (hooking the toes and downward stirrups) are performed. Purpose: to promote blood circulation, strengthen muscle tone and prevent muscle atrophy. The stitches are removed 12-14 days after surgery. 3-4 weeks after surgery, supine position on the bed without wearing a waistband for lumbar back muscle exercise, method: five-point support method, with the occiput, both elbows, both heels as support points to lift the waist and hips, twice a day, 5-10 times each time, the action to the waist and hips and the bed surface into an arch as the standard. The patient can change to prone lumbar back exercises after adaptation. Method: a. The body is prone, first lift the head and shoulders and back away from the bed; b. With the abdomen as support, leave the bed and extend the legs back to lift, but do not bend the knees until the shoulders and back and both lower limbs are lifted at the same time. At the same time, you can practice sitting up by wearing a peri-waist, and start practicing, the time should not be too long, no more than 10-20 minutes is appropriate, while practicing bedside standing and increasing the sitting time according to the patient’s physical strength. Discharge instruction: Do not do lumbar rotation for 3-6 months after surgery, pay attention to standing, standing and walking posture, and avoid bending over to hold weight. High nutrition (lean meat, eggs, fish, etc.), calcium-rich diet (ribs, dairy products), peri-waist wear for at least 3-6 months. Regular outpatient review and outpatient guidance from the doctor. It will take 3 months to resume light physical work and 6 months to perform normal work. Regular outpatient review (once a month, three months and six months after discharge), and visit any time if there is any change in condition.
