Farsightedness and presbyopia are two very different “problems”. In layman’s terms, the biggest difference between the two is that “farsightedness” is a disease, while “presbyopia” is not a disease.
Farsightedness is a refractive error; presbyopia is a natural phenomenon, just like “getting older, legs and feet are not flexible”, which everyone has to experience. As to why people tend to confuse the two, the only explanation is that both require ortho-lens correction.
