How to tell the difference between sore gums from fire and wisdom tooth pain

Fire gum pain and wisdom tooth pain can be distinguished by the location and degree of pain, methods of relief, and x-ray examination. Fire gum pain is pain caused by an inflammatory reaction in the gums due to the low resistance of the body and the presence of inflammatory potential factors in the mouth, often manifesting as a dull pain with red, swollen, hot and painful gums that may not be limited to the gums of a particular tooth. This type of pain is usually relieved within a few days after being treated with a light diet, rinsing, brushing, and taking medication to clear the heat and detoxify the gums. Wisdom tooth pain is usually present throughout the eruption of wisdom teeth and may be caused by irritation of the alveolar bone and gums during eruption or local inflammation caused by food debris. The pain caused by wisdom teeth is more intense than that caused by gum pain from fire, and some patients may even be unable to open their mouths, which affects eating. The pain is usually confined to the eruption site of the wisdom tooth at first, and you can see the redness and swelling of the eruption site. Later, there may be radiating pain, such as infection spreading to the throat causing swelling and pain in the pharynx, causing pulpitis that radiates to the head and face, causing more severe pain. Wisdom tooth pain cannot be relieved by brushing or other measures, and sometimes antibiotics and painkillers are needed to relieve the pain. The pain may accompany the wisdom tooth throughout its eruption until it disappears after normal eruption. The most accurate way to distinguish between wisdom tooth pain and gum pain is through x-rays, which can easily reveal that the tooth is erupting, whereas with fire-induced gum pain, the erupting tooth is not visible. Some wisdom teeth are found to be abnormally positioned and obstructed on X-ray, which can cause recurrent inflammation and pain and affect the quality of life, requiring surgical extraction, and the pain will disappear after recovery.
