What to do when the whites of the eyes are poked and prodded with blood

Patients with eye injuries in which the whites of the eyes are poked and bled need to consult a doctor in time. If it is only an eye surface abrasion, the patient can use antibiotic eye drops as prescribed by the doctor to prevent infection; if the patient has a conjunctival laceration or even rupture of the eyeball, surgical treatment will be required.
After the eye is poked, the conjunctiva becomes congested, so the patient may have red eyes, and it is difficult for the patient to accurately determine the severity of the injury, so the patient needs to consult the hospital in time. If the conjunctival tissue is only abraded, the patient can use antibiotic eye drops under the guidance of the doctor to prevent infection, such as levofloxacin eye drops, tobramycin eye drops and so on.
If the patient’s injury is serious, conjunctival laceration, or even rupture of the eyeball, the patient needs to undergo surgical treatment to close the laceration wound.
It is recommended that patients with ocular trauma consult a doctor in a timely manner to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
