According to TCM, the symptoms of warmth and fatigue in the palms and feet are generally caused by deficiency of both qi and yin (deficiency of both qi and yin fluids), and the specific cause still needs to be further analyzed in conjunction with more clinical symptoms. In addition to pathological factors, there may also be normal physiological conditions in the human body, such as after a woman is pregnant, there may be fever and fatigue in the palms and feet. Deficiency of qi and yin refers to insufficiency of both qi and yin in the human body, with common manifestations such as less talking, lack of energy, fatigue, five heart-heat (heat in the hearts of the two hands and two feet, and self-consciousness of the heart and chest), dizziness and lightheadedness, dry throat, dry mouth, body wasting, small amount of urine, dark color, and dry stools, among other symptoms. Deficiency of qi leads to weakness, deficiency of yin cannot restrain yang qi, and deficiency heat arises internally, so the symptoms of five heart-heat can be seen in the form of heat in the palms and feet. The treatment of qi and yin deficiency is based on tonifying qi and nourishing yin, which can be treated with Chinese medicine prescriptions such as Roasted Licorice Soup. When discomfort occurs, one should seek medical advice and treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
