How to regulate wet phlegm and dampness

Damp phlegm and heavy dampness can be regulated by improving diet, taking Chinese herbs and performing moxibustion.
Dampness and phlegm can be seen as dietary inactivity, chest and epigastric constriction (chest and abdomen feel full and stuffy), bowel sounds and diarrhea, weakness of the limbs, yellowish color, body heat or not, vomiting without thirst, spitting phlegm and saliva and other symptoms.
1. Improve the diet: patients should try to eat a light diet, and should not over-eat cold, fat, sweet and thick (greasy, sticky food), stimulating food, which may affect the normal transport function of the spleen and stomach, resulting in wet phlegm and heavy dampness. You can also follow the doctor’s instructions to take some medicinal diets that have the effect of strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness to assist in the treatment.
2. Taking traditional Chinese medicine: Most of the patients are suffering from wet phlegm and heavy dampness mainly because of the spleen deficiency and dampness, and there are different types of symptoms such as cold-dampness and dampness-heat. After systematic diagnosis and treatment by the doctor, patients can take Chinese herbal prescriptions such as Liu Jun Zi Tang, Dampness Removing Stomach Ling Tang, Li-Zhong Tang, San Ren Tang, etc. to regulate the condition. The adverse effects of these prescriptions are not clear.
3. Acupuncture and moxibustion treatment: acupuncture and moxibustion can be performed at acupoints such as Foot Sanli Point and Guanyuan Point to regulate the condition, which has the effect of strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness, and can expel the dampness in the patient’s body and remove the dampness and phlegm. Acupuncture should be operated by a professional physician, moxibustion should be at least under the guidance of a professional physician.
If the patient is not feeling well, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to find out the cause of the disease and standardize the treatment. Do not use drugs or acupuncture without authorization to avoid delay.
