What’s wrong with your eyes? They’re swollen, sore and red.

Swollen, painful and red eyes may be caused by granuloma, conjunctivitis or keratitis, etc. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time to clarify the cause.
1. Eyelid swelling: It is an acute purulent inflammation of the eyelid glands, mostly caused by staphylococcus, especially Staphylococcus aureus infection. Eyelid glands open at the margin of the eyelid, and bacteria can enter the root of the eyelashes through the opening, leading to sebaceous and blepharoplastic gland infections and granuloma. The eye is swollen, painful and red, and may be accompanied by symptoms such as pus.
2. Conjunctivitis: an inflammatory disease that occurs in the conjunctiva, with diverse etiology, as the conjunctiva can come into contact with many factors in the outside world, infection, physical and chemical stimuli, allergic reactions, inflammation of neighboring tissues or systemic diseases and other factors may cause conjunctivitis in patients. Swollen, painful and red eyes may be caused by conjunctivitis, and may also be accompanied by photophobia, tearing and other symptoms.
3. Keratitis: Keratitis is an inflammatory disease of the corneal tissue, mostly due to the weakening of the cornea’s defense ability, external or endogenous pathogenic factors attacking the corneal tissue. Causes include infectious factors, endogenous factors and local spreading factors. Swollen, painful and red eyes may be caused by keratitis, which may also be accompanied by symptoms such as decreased vision, tearing and photophobia.
