Increased bone mineral density metabolically active is the result of imaging, there may be an imbalance of bone metabolism, mostly considered to be caused by osteoporosis, osteomyelitis, abnormal bone fiber hyperplasia and so on.
1. Osteoporosis: Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease, mostly due to the decrease of bone formation and the increase of bone resorption, the main symptoms are fatigue, low back pain, spinal deformation, bone fracture, etc., which may lead to the patient’s imaging results of increased bone mineral density and metabolically active.
2. Osteomyelitis: Osteomyelitis is an infectious disease, mainly caused by bacterial and other pathogens. Symptoms such as generalized high fever, localized bone pain, redness and swelling may occur, as well as malaise, poor appetite, etc., which may also lead to increased bone mineral density and metabolically active bone mineral density in the patient’s imaging findings.
3. Bone fiber hyperplasia: the cause of bone fiber hyperplasia is not yet clear, mainly due to congenital developmental abnormalities. Patients will have bone pain, pathologic fracture, deformity, etc., accompanied by dizziness, hearing impairment and other symptoms, which will also lead to the patient’s imaging results of increased bone mineral density metabolically active.
4. Other: other diseases such as bone tuberculosis, osteosarcoma, etc. can also lead to the phenomenon of increased bone mineral density and active metabolism in the imaging examination.
If the imaging test result shows that the bone mineral density is increased and metabolically active, the patient should be diagnosed and treated under the guidance of a doctor in time.
