What does simple renal cyst mean?

Simple renal cyst is a common benign lesion of the kidney in cystic nephropathy.
The etiology and pathogenesis of solitary renal cyst have not been fully elucidated, and it is currently thought to be acquired. The cysts may be single or multiple, often involving one kidney or both kidneys, and are usually not accompanied by renal hypoplasia.
Generally, renal cysts have smooth walls and no calcification. The incidence of simple renal cysts increases with age. Simple renal cysts do not have obvious clinical manifestations in the early stage and do not affect the kidney and surrounding tissues, but may cause compression of local tissues as the disease progresses.
Generally, if the size is relatively small, follow-up observation is sufficient, but if the simple renal cyst is larger than 5 centimeters, laparoscopic surgical treatment can be chosen to incise the cyst.
When suffering from simple renal cysts should be based on the patient’s clinical manifestations of the relevant examination, under the guidance of the doctor to develop an appropriate treatment program.
