There is no “best time for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular examination”, but considering the possibility of needing to draw blood on an empty stomach, it is recommended to go for examination in the morning when you have fasted for more than 8 hours.
Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease is a collective term for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, which refers to ischemic or hemorrhagic diseases of the heart and brain caused by hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, hypertension, etc. Laboratory tests and imaging tests are mainly needed.
1. Laboratory examination:
(1) Blood routine can clarify whether the patient has anemia, infection, etc. by observing the blood cell count, and fasting is not required;
(2) Blood biochemistry can find out whether there are abnormalities in blood glucose, blood lipids and other indicators, whether there are electrolyte disorders and liver and kidney function damage, etc., and it is necessary to fast for more than 8 hours;
(3) Coagulation function test to understand the thromboplastin time and partial thromboplastin time, whether abnormal suggests that there is no coagulation dysfunction;
(4) Myocardial damage markers and brain natriuretic peptide test draw blood to check cardiac enzymes, troponin and other indicators, can understand whether there is myocardial damage.
2. Imaging examination:
(1) Echocardiography can show the structural changes of the heart and hemodynamic status, which can help to understand the cardiac lesions;
(2) CT is more sensitive for detecting non-calcified plaque in coronary artery, and can also exclude cerebral hemorrhage, as well as show the location of hemorrhage, the size of hemorrhage, the morphology of hematoma, whether it breaks into the ventricle, and whether there is a band of low-density edema around the hematoma and the occupying effect;
(3) Coronary angiography helps to understand the ischemic condition of the heart, while cerebral angiography can discover the location, nature, scope and extent of cerebrovascular lesions.
There are many cardiovascular and cerebrovascular examination programs, and it is recommended that patients go to their local hospitals for consultation.
