Patients with high uric acid can eat honey. Honey is a low purine diet and eating low purine honey does not increase the patient’s blood uric acid level, so it is safe to eat honey. The general rule of thumb for patients with high uric acid is that they need to eat a low purine diet. Some common fruits, vegetables and staple foods in life are low in purines and can be eaten by patients with high uric acid. Patients should eat less food rich in purine, such as mutton, broth and hooves, which are all foods with high purine content and should be eaten as little as possible by patients with high blood uric acid. In addition to diet, patients with high blood uric acid should drink more water and urinate more often to promote the excretion of blood uric acid through urine.
