Is uremic encephalopathy advanced?

Uremic encephalopathy is usually a manifestation of late stage uremia, but it is not absolutely so. Uremic encephalopathy often early in life patients may present with fatigue, insomnia, lack of concentration, sometimes personality changes, depression, memory loss, and in severe cases, patients may experience apathy, delirium, coma, convulsions, and other serious conditions. The cause of uremic encephalopathy is not very clear so far, and it is considered that it may be related to high toxin levels, secondary hyperparathyroidism or disorders of water-electrolyte and acid-base balance. For uremic encephalopathy, timely treatment is needed, first of all, rest and a low protein diet. Next, attention should be paid to the removal of toxin levels, which can be achieved by using hemodialysis.
