Syphilis in men can manifest in all areas of the skin.
Syphilis is a typical sexually transmitted disease, which is mainly triggered by infection with the syphilis spirochete. Syphilis is divided into one, two and three phases according to the typical symptoms, and the skin manifestations and parts of the male syphilis patients will be different in each period:
1. Phase I syphilis: skin manifestation symptoms are generally on the external genitalia, mostly in the glans, prepuce and coronal groove areas, appearing red coins large painless ulcers. At the same time, the patient’s groin and nearby lymph nodes will mostly appear painless enlargement.
2. Stage II syphilis: mainly after the disappearance of the hard chancre (i.e. stage I symptoms). The skin manifestations change into a generalized syphilis rash, which mainly includes papules, macules, scaly rashes or pustules, etc. Most of the hands and feet will appear dark red.
Most of the hands and feet will have a dark red, desquamative maculopapular rash. Flat warts are most often found on the penis and perianal area, and some patients may also have hair loss. Skin and mucous membrane damage may occur in the mouth, throat or genitals.
3. Stage III syphilis: In stage III, the main symptom is nodular syphilis rash, which mainly appears on the head, face or back of the shoulders. Serious skin lesions such as syphilis tumors may also occur.
If you are worried about syphilis, it is recommended that you consult a doctor as soon as possible to complete the relevant examinations, so as to avoid delaying your condition.
