In the treatment of hypertension causing heart enlargement, the first step should be to control the blood pressure normally and smoothly to avoid fluctuation of blood pressure. In terms of medication, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors are usually chosen first, and the main representative drugs are captopril, enalapril, and perindopril. Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, in addition to controlling blood pressure, can also reverse ventricular remodeling. Then there is the choice of angiotensin receptor antagonists, represented by drugs such as valsartan, coxsartan, candesartan. If the blood pressure is still high, other drugs should be added, usually choosing calcium channel blockers, amlodipine, nifedipine controlled-release tablets. In elderly patients, diuretics as well as beta-blockers can also be added as appropriate. For heart enlargement, if the patient has symptoms of heart failure, appropriate cardiotonic, diuretic and vasodilator drugs should be applied.
