What’s a tracheal obstruction?

Airway obstruction generally refers to the phenomenon of narrowing of airways caused by inflammation, phlegm, foreign bodies, tumors and other factors in the airways.
1. Inflammation: For example, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is mainly manifested as inflammation of the small airways, on the basis of which obstruction as well as narrowing of the small airways occurs, thus causing symptoms such as chest tightness and dyspnea.
2. Sputum, for example, for people who are weak and unable to cough up sputum, when pneumonia and other diseases occur, sputum is difficult to be coughed out of the airways, resulting in obstruction of the airways, which may cause chest tightness, or even lead to sudden suffocation, which is life-threatening.
3. Foreign body, such as the elderly and children and other related people, the airway protection ability is poor, and may occur when eating aspiration. Foreign body in the airway may cause obstruction of the airway, and in serious cases, it may also lead to choking and cause death.
4. Tumors, such as lung cancer may grow directly in the trachea or press on the large airways, thus causing tracheal obstruction.
When chest tightness and dyspnea occur and airway obstruction is suspected, you should seek medical treatment offline in time to assess the specific cause of the disease and target treatment.
