Can you drink Codonopsis and Astragalus for a long time?

The main use of Radix Codonopsis pilosulae and Radix Astragali is decoction with water. It is not recommended to take it for a long period of time for non-chronic illnesses, as fire and other uncomfortable symptoms may occur when drinking it for a long period of time.
Codonopsis pilosula is flat in nature, sweet in taste, and belongs to the spleen meridian and lung meridian; its main effect is to benefit the qi and tonify the middle, strengthen the spleen and moisten the lungs; it is mainly used for the treatment of deficiency of the spleen and lungs, palpitation (accelerated heartbeat often accompanied by panic attacks), shortness of breath, low appetite, diarrhea and loose stools (loose stools that are thin and unshapely), coughing and asthma, and internal heatiness and thirst (fever accompanied by symptoms such as overeating, excessive drinking, excessive urination, and so forth), and so on.
Adverse effects have not been recorded, according to the “Eighteen Anti”, Codonopsis pilosula should not be used with quinoa.
Astragalus is warm in nature, sweet in taste, belonging to the lung meridian and the spleen meridian, with the main effects of benefiting qi and consolidating the surface, diuretic, toxin, muscle and astringent sores; it is mainly used in the treatment of qi deficiency, tiredness and fatigue, poor appetite, loose stools, central qi sinking (deficiency of the spleen and stomach qi, and the appearance of internal organs falling down), prolonged diarrhea, sweating caused by surface deficiency (involuntary sweating during the daytime, and sweating aggravated with the slightest movement), and prolonged sores that cannot be converged, etc. There is no exact record of adverse reactions.
Adverse reactions have not been documented, long-term overconsumption or improper consumption may cause symptoms of fire.
According to the records of “Eighteen Against” and “Nineteen Against”, there is no contraindication to the use of Radix Codonopsis and Radix Astragali, and the combination of these two herbs has the effect of strengthening the spleen and tonifying the middle, moistening the lungs and inducing diuresis;
