The vast majority of children born with strong echogenic light spots in the left ventricle are developmentally normal, and very few have chromosomal abnormalities. Left ventricular strong light spot is a kind of soft indicator of pregnancy ultrasound, mostly caused by tendon fibrosis. It is not a manifestation of fetal malformation, nor does it mean that there is a problem with the fetal heart. Simple left ventricular strong echoes are considered normal, and the child is born with no abnormality. However, a strong left ventricular echogenic spot combined with abnormalities in other ultrasound soft indicators, such as missing fetal nasal bone, short femur, and widened ventricles, may indicate a risk of chromosomal abnormalities. When there are multiple abnormalities, further tests such as amniocentesis or umbilical cord blood sampling are recommended to check the fetal chromosomes to rule out chromosomal abnormalities. If the test is completely normal, there is no need to worry, as the echogenic spot will be gradually absorbed. Do not panic too much when you find a strong echogenic spot during pregnancy, consult your doctor in time and give targeted treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
