What causes asthma?

Asthma may be caused by heredity, allergies, climate, environmental pollution, smoking and other reasons.

1. Heredity. Asthma is a disease with genetic predisposition, if parents are asthmatics, the probability of children suffering from asthma is higher than others.

2. Allergy. Some patients have allergic reactions to substances such as dust mites, pollen, pet hair or secretions, which can manifest in the form of asthma.

3. Climate. Sudden changes in the air from cold to hot cause rapid constriction of the airways, which may trigger asthma.

4. Environmental pollution. Pollution in the air such as sulfur dioxide and nitric oxide can lead to bronchial constriction triggering asthma.

5. Smoking. Smoke from tobacco is also a common cause of asthma. This effect exists not only on the smoker himself but also on passive smokers.
