Can a coffee spot get a neurofibroma?

A coffee spot doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get a neurofibroma.
Cafe au lait spots are relatively common hyperpigmented skin conditions that are mostly hereditary. Common symptoms can show up as light brown spots, tan spots, or dark brown spots. If there is simply one coffee spot, which is relatively few in number and small in size, you will not necessarily get a neurofibroma.
If the number of coffee spots exceeds six and is larger than 1.5 centimeters in diameter, it may indicate a combination of type I neurofibromatosis. Although neurofibromas cause coffee spots to appear on the skin with subcutaneous soft tissue masses, they are not diagnosed by a single coffee spot.
Patients need to go to the hospital for examination, and after confirmation of the diagnosis, combined with the results of the examination under the guidance of the doctor for targeted treatment.
