Chicken Nei Jin is mainly used for food stagnation and other diseases, and can be decocted or powdered. Atractylodis Macrocephalae is used to treat weakness of the spleen and stomach, and is often taken in decoction.
Both Jin Nei Jin and Atractylodes Macrocephalae are traditional Chinese medicines, however, the specific effects and functions of the medicines are quite different.
Jin Neijin is a food elimination and stagnation (digestion of stagnant food) type of medicine, which is mainly used to strengthen the stomach and eliminate food, astringent essence and stopping spermatorrhea (consolidation of semen and prevention of spermatorrhea), and to pass the lymph and dissolve stones in the clinic to treat abdominal distension and abdominal pain caused by stagnation of food and diet, as well as spermatorrhea, dysuria, and lithiasis (discharging gravel during urination or sudden interruption of urination, urethral pain, and intolerable lumbar and abdominal cramping pains) and other illnesses.
Atractylodes macrocephala, on the other hand, is good at treating symptoms of weakness of the spleen and stomach, such as poor appetite and tiredness, abdominal distension and diarrhea, and spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating at the slightest movement), which can be used to replenish qi and strengthen the spleen, dry up dampness and promote diuresis (drying up dampness and reducing the amount of water-dampness in the body), and stopping sweating.
All of the above medicines can be decocted and taken internally, and Chicken Nei Jin can also be powdered and taken. However, Chicken Nei Jin is not recommended to be used for those with spleen deficiency without accumulation and stagnation. Atractylodes macrocephala should not be used for people with Yin deficiency, internal heat and fluid depletion.
It is recommended to consult a doctor for specific medication.
