What is the painful swelling of the fingers in dry syndrome?

A small percentage of patients with dry syndrome will experience joint swelling, mostly in the form of joint pain. This symptom is mostly transient, but the diagnosis of dry syndrome should not be made directly because of the symptom of joint swelling and pain. This is because tendonitis and rheumatoid arthritis can also cause swelling and pain in the fingers. Therefore, patients can consult rheumatologists and orthopaedic surgeons to confirm the diagnosis.
