What are the methods of autologous blood transfusion

There are three common methods of autologous blood transfusion. First, preoperative autologous blood transfusion, in which a certain amount of the patient’s own blood is collected at a certain time before surgery for storage and input during surgery. Second, acute hemodilution, in which a certain amount of the patient’s own blood is taken and stored, usually after anesthesia and before the major bleeding step of surgery. Colloidal crystalloid fluid is also input to replenish the blood volume so that the blood is properly diluted and the hemoglobin is reduced. During surgical bleeding, the loss of tangible fraction of blood is reduced, and then autologous blood is transfused back to the patient according to intraoperative blood loss and patient condition. Third, blood recovery, blood recovery refers to the use of blood recovery devices, the accumulation of blood in the patient’s body cavity, intraoperative bleeding and postoperative drainage of blood for treatment, and then back to the patient. Blood recovery must use qualified equipment and the recovered and processed blood must meet certain quality standards before it can be applied.
