What are the symptoms of pleural nodules

Symptoms of pleural nodules vary according to the type, location, size, benign or malignant nature of the nodules. Slight cases may have no discomfort, while larger nodules or nodules that irritate the pleura may show symptoms such as chest pain, dyspnea and cough. If the pleural nodule is caused by infection, if the inflammation subsides after active treatment, the patient may have no discomfort. If it is caused by tuberculosis, the nodules are widely distributed and located near the bronchial tubes, which may cause pleural scarring, pleural adhesions, etc., and the patient may show symptoms such as coughing, chest pain and shortness of breath when breathing. If the pleural nodules are caused by malignant tumors, they are mostly accompanied by the production of pleural cavity effusion, which stimulates the pleural cavity and can cause dyspnea, chest tightness, chest pain, and so on. When pleural nodules are found, patients are advised to seek medical treatment in time to find out the condition and treat it actively.
