Does an ovarian teratoma 2.8 affect the endocrine system?

Ovarian teratoma 2.8cm usually does not affect the endocrine system, and some patients may develop endocrine disorders. Ovarian teratoma belongs to a kind of germ cell tumor, and the cause of its development is not yet clear, but it is related to age, hereditary disease, and a family history of ovarian teratoma. When the size of the ovarian teratoma is 2.8cm, it usually does not compress the ovaries, and thus does not affect the patient’s endocrine status. However, it cannot be ruled out that some patients may have symptoms of endocrine abnormalities such as dysmenorrhea, abdominal masses, precocious puberty and anemia. Since some ovarian teratomas may be malignant, patients are advised to undergo regular checkups. When the size of the tumor reaches the indication of surgery, it is recommended to carry out surgical resection in time.
