In general, intestinal polyps do not become cancerous in the short term after being cut off. If cancer occurs after 3 months after the intestinal polyps are cut off, it may be related to the nature of the polyps and the excision site. In the treatment, it is recommended that patients choose the appropriate treatment according to the cancerous condition and the degree of cancer: I. Reasons: Intestinal polyps are divided into inflammatory, hyperplastic, adenomatous, serrated and other types, in general, inflammatory and hyperplastic polyps will not become cancerous after excision. If adenomatous polyps and serrated polyps have cancerous tissues at the edges when they are removed, the chances of these polyps becoming cancerous later are higher. Treatment: 1. Surgery: When colonoscopy and pathological examination prove that the polyp has been completely excised and the cancer cells are highly differentiated and the lymph and blood vessels are not invaded, the lesion can be removed by local surgery. When there are cancerous tissues at the borderline position of polypectomy, which have invaded the veins and lymph and are poorly differentiated, or when the polyps are large, intestinal resection should be adopted to expand the resection area and control the lesions; 2. Radiotherapy: if the cancer has spread out of the intestinal wall or spread into intestinal cancer and involved the lymph nodes, and there are contraindications to surgery, palliative radiotherapy can be adopted to relieve symptoms; 3. patients do not have indications for surgery as well as radiotherapy, they can be treated by chemotherapy, which can also be used as preoperative adjuvant therapy to help shrink the tumor; 4. Other treatments: if the cancer has metastasized to other organs and the effect of palliative treatment is not good, it should be combined with molecular targeted therapy, immunotherapy and Chinese medicine treatment to relieve patients’ symptoms and improve their quality of life. In addition, we should pay attention to care after polyp cancer resection, regular review, develop good living habits, light diet, eat more fruits and vegetables, and avoid spicy and stimulating foods.
