Pathological staging of intestinal polyps

The common pathological subtypes of intestinal polyps are inflammatory polyps and verrucous polyps. Inflammatory polyps are pathologically manifested as hyperplastic polyps, and some of them can cause pseudopolyps due to chronic inflammation of the intestine, such as ulcerative colitis. Aneurysmal polyps generally present pathologically as tubular adenomas and villous tubular adenomas, of which, the cancer rate of villous tubular adenomas is relatively high, about 40%. The cancer rate of tubular adenoma is relatively lower than that of villous tubular adenoma, which is about 4%. Tubular polyps clinically require treatment, and some polyps are hereditary polyps, such as misshapen polyps, for example, familial polyposis. The common intestinal polyp pathologies are the above categories.
