Does terbinafine hydrochloride tablets affect the kidneys?

Taking terbinafine hydrochloride tablets can have an effect on the kidneys.
Terbinafine hydrochloride tablets are an antifungal medication that can be used to treat nail fungus of the hands and feet, also known as onychomycosis, caused by a fungal infection of the skin.
The administration of terbinafine hydrochloride tablets can have an effect on the kidneys. This is because terbinafine hydrochloride tablets are mainly metabolized by the liver and kidneys after entering the interior of the body, and single-dose pharmacokinetic studies have shown that the clearance of terbinafine is reduced by about 50% in patients with renal impairment and with liver disease. The adverse effects caused by terbinafine are lower relative to those caused by the liver.
Relevant clinical trials have shown that common adverse reactions caused by terbinafine hydrochloride tablets include headache, diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea, rash, liver enzyme abnormalities, and skin itching; it is contraindicated in patients with chronic or active liver disease, and in those who are hypersensitive to terbinafine hydrochloride tablets; and liver function should be measured in all patients prior to taking terbinafine hydrochloride tablets.
Individuals should not abuse terbinafine hydrochloride tablets, the use of drugs should be strictly in accordance with medical advice.
