Taboos of bathing for hypertensive elderly

Elderly people with high blood pressure should not take a bath before or after meals, the bath time should not be too long, and they should not take a cold bath.
1. It is not advisable to take a bath before and after meals: a lot of calories will be consumed when taking a bath, and the glycogen storage of the body of the elderly is relatively small, so taking a bath before meals may lead to hypoglycemia, and taking a bath immediately after meals will make the skin blood vessels dilate due to the stimulation of hot water and the increase in the temperature of the bath room, resulting in the elevation of blood pressure.
2. Bathing time should not be too long: hypertensive elderly people’s ability to regulate blood circulation is relatively weak, if a long time to take a bath, the light will appear dizziness, serious fainting and falling.
3. Can not take a cold shower: cold shower will accelerate blood circulation, metabolism faster, for hypertensive elderly, is not appropriate.
