Toddler rash, also known as infantile roseola, is a sudden onset of high fever followed by a sudden drop in fever and subsequent rash in infants. Toddler’s acute rash is a self-limiting disease and treatment is mainly supportive. Babies can be treated with general treatment and medication under doctor’s guidance.
1. General treatment: Children should be fully rested in bed when they have fever. Meanwhile, during the rest period, the diet should be mainly easy to digest and give enough water. In addition, infantile emergency rash is contagious, the baby should be isolated at home.
2. Medication: Children with fever should be treated with oral acetaminophen, ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs under the guidance of a doctor. Children with severe illness can take oral antiviral drugs such as ganciclovir.
