The Shen Que point for both children and adults is located on the line of circulation of the Ren vein, i.e., on the midline of the abdomen, in the center of the umbilicus, which is the place we usually call the navel.
Shen Que point is from the book “Acupuncture and Moxibustion A Yi Jing”, which has the effect of warming yang to save reversal (saving fainting, unconsciousness, etc. by warming and replenishing yang qi), fixing desiccation, cultivating the vital essence, and harmonizing the intestines and stomach.
It is mainly used for the treatment of deficiency, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, diarrhea, dysentery, prolapse, edema, dysuria (unsmooth urination), bulging and distention, enteritis and other conditions.
It should be noted that Shen Que point cannot be injected, only moxibustion. Children who need moxibustion at Shen Que point should go to the hospital accompanied by adults and operated by professional doctors, do not operate on your own, so as not to burn the skin or choose the wrong point to aggravate the condition.
