What to do about cervical polyps during pregnancy

Cervical polyps during pregnancy need to be evaluated by a doctor to decide how to deal with them. Generally, there are no abnormal symptoms to be observed and not to be treated for the time being, and if cervical polyps repeatedly cause bleeding and infections, surgery can be considered to remove them.
1. If you have a cervical polyp during pregnancy, the cervical polyp is fragile, the surface is a layer of columnar epithelium, easy to bleed when touched, and will not bleed if not touched, but if you have a cervical polyp without symptoms, you don’t need any special treatment for the time being, and observation is the mainstay.
2. Some women with cervical polyps have bleeding symptoms, the amount of bleeding is relatively small, can be stopped by themselves, and do not need special treatment for the time being. If the bleeding is heavy and accompanied by symptoms such as infection, the polyp can be removed surgically in the middle or late stages of pregnancy or during the delivery of the fetus.
In the first trimester of pregnancy, the embryo is not firmly implanted, and removing the polyp may cause irritation to the cervix and lead to miscarriage, so try not to have surgery at this stage. Cervical polyps are located within the cervical canal and can only be partially removed to avoid abortion of the fetus due to removal of the polyp by oval forceps deep inside the cervical canal.
Cervical polyps during pregnancy are recommended to go to the hospital for examination, and the doctor will diagnose and judge the way to deal with them.
