Ultrasound Precautions

Color ultrasonography in gynecology includes color ultrasonography of the abdomen and vaginal ultrasonography. For color ultrasonography of the abdomen, it is important to note before the examination that the examination should be done only in the case of urinary urgency. In the case of vaginal ultrasound, it should be noted that: first, it is best to exclude menstruation before doing the examination, except in case of emergency. Secondly, vaginal ultrasound should not be done if there is acute inflammation of the vagina, as this may aggravate the inflammation or lead to the possibility of infection in other areas. Thirdly, when doing vaginal ultrasound, the bladder must be emptied first, so that the situation in the pelvis can be understood more clearly.
