The drug treatment of diabetes is very complex and depends on the type of diabetes. Diabetes is divided into type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and special types of diabetes, including diabetes whose etiology has been clarified. There are different treatments for different types: 1. Once type 1 diabetes is diagnosed, insulin must be used. ; 2. Type 2 diabetes can be treated with medication in the early stage, according to the mechanism of action of the medication combined with the pathogenesis of diabetes. If, after 3 months of treatment, a single drug cannot be controlled, combined drug therapy is advocated. Patients can combine two oral medications, and can also combine insulin therapy. If control is still poor, three drugs can be combined, including insulin injection therapy. If the control is not good with the combination of three drugs, it is recommended to use insulin directly. However, the use of insulin does not exclude the use of oral medication. If the blood glucose control still cannot reach the target with insulin treatment, some drugs should be combined to assist insulin to play the role of lowering sugar and achieve good efficacy. So whether it is oral medication or insulin, there is no good or bad, only suitable or unsuitable.
