No spicy food after lung cancer surgery.
After lung cancer surgery, one should eat easily digestible food with high protein, high calories and high vitamins, and avoid oily, spicy and stimulating food, so as to avoid inducing discomfort to the organism.
In the early stage after general anesthesia surgery for lung cancer, a small amount of fluid food, such as rice porridge, etc., should be eaten, and after the recovery of gastrointestinal function, it can be gradually transitioned to semi-fluid and general food. Eating should be small and frequent, and try to choose high protein, high calorie and high vitamin food which is easy to be digested.
After surgery, patients should avoid eating too greasy food, such as barbecue, fried chicken pieces, bacon, etc., so as not to aggravate gastrointestinal burden, which is not conducive to the recovery of the organism, and should not consume spicy and irritating food such as peppercorns and chili peppers, so as not to produce local irritation and affect wound healing.
Besides dietary control, lung cancer patients should keep the surgical site clean and hygienic after surgery to avoid wound infection. After seeking doctor’s permission, they should start activities as early as possible and can do deep breathing exercise or blow up balloon to prevent postoperative pulmonary atelectasis.
After surgery, lung cancer patients should consult professional doctors for relevant precautions and follow doctors’ instructions to make reasonable diet plan, and should not make blind judgment on their own to avoid inducing uncomfortable symptoms.
