What to do if a solid lung nodule changes from 3mm to 6mm in 8 months

Solid lung nodule changing from 3mm to 6mm in 8 months may be caused by pneumonia, tuberculosis, or early adenocarcinoma, which can be treated with temporary observation, medication or surgery, radiotherapy, etc. according to the cause of the disease.
1. Inflammatory nodules: inflammation can easily cause hyperplastic nodules after repeated stimulation of lung tissue. At present, the nodule of 6mm is relatively small, so it can be observed temporarily. If the nodule continues to increase in size and exceeds 3cm, it is recommended to have it removed surgically as soon as possible.
2. Tuberculosis: For nodules caused by tuberculosis, oral anti-tuberculosis drugs, such as isoniazid, streptomycin, etc., should be taken during the period of medication for regular rechecking to know whether the nodules are shrinking gradually.
3. Early adenocarcinoma: If early lung adenocarcinoma is identified, radical surgery is recommended as soon as possible.
At present, we need to do pathological biopsy as soon as possible to understand the nature of solid lung nodules, and then follow the doctor’s instruction for targeted treatment with relevant causes.
